Volunteers are the heart of ReFrame. Each year, nearly 200 incredible people contribute their time, talent and energy to the festival, which would not be possible without them.
Below is an overview of what makes volunteering at ReFrame so great, and why we’re blessed to have so many people return each and every January.
VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Formerly Shift Supervisors, these trusted superstars manage the Volunteers on their shifts. This position is available to previous Shift Supervisors and experienced Volunteers.
Ticketing Volunteers help run the Showplace box office, assisting with ticket exchange and pass sales. iPad training provided!
Merch Volunteers hold down the fort at the Showplace merch table, handling cash and processing sales on iPads. Training provided!
The name of the game is crowd control! Ushers are in charge of greeting patrons and helping them to their seats, counting heads, directing foot traffic, and answering questions.
AMBASSADORS – NEW position for 2020!
ReFrame Ambassadors help to fill gaps and provide extra support when needed, so you may be asked to move between venues on your shifts. Ambassadors also help out with raffle ticket sales and conducting audience surveys. You’ll also receive iPad training so you’re able to jump into any position if things get a little hairy.
Please note that all volunteers are asked to complete a minimum of two (2) four (4) hour shifts over the festival weekend.
In recognition of the time, talent and expertise contributed to the festival every year, each volunteer will receive:
- Pizza lunch at the volunteer orientation session (January 18, 2020)
- An exclusive ReFrame volunteer tee
- A ticket to the Thursday Opening Night feature film at Showplace
- Two (2) rush tickets for each shift you volunteer, good for ANY films throughout the weekend
- An invitation to a Volunteer Appreciation Party + film screening at Artspace (February 25th, 2020)
