ReFrame is accepting submissions from April 25 – August 1, 2022 to be screened at ReFrame 2023.
CATEGORIES
ReFrame is a documentary film festival focusing on social justice issues. ReFrame is looking for documentary films – Short (under 40 min), Mid-Length (41-65 min), and Feature-Length (over 65 minutes). Submissions must be assigned two categories to assist with our programming process:
Age – Youth & Aging
Arts & Culture
Environment & Food
International Human Rights
Health – Mental Health & Ability
Indigenous Rights
Feminist Issues
LGBTTIQ2S+ Rights
Local & Regional
Education, Science & Technology
PAYMENT
There is no fee for submitting films for consideration. ReFrame will pay screening fees for all films selected for ReFrame 2023. Fees are calculated according to the number of minutes of the film and in compliance with the Independent Media Arts Alliance (IMAA) fee schedule for 2022.
ENTRY RULES AND REGULATIONS
In most situations, only films completed after October 1st, 2019 will be considered for official selection.
Distributors must limit their submissions to TWO titles only to be considered by the festival. Any further submissions will not be considered unless prior arrangements have been made.
All non-English language films must have English subtitles.
ReFrame will only review films that have completed the online submission process, unless other arrangements have been made.
We make our decisions in the fall and, due to limited resources, only films accepted to the festival will be contacted.
For films that are selected for the festival, we will require a QuickTime file to our specifications. We do not accept DCP as a screening format.
The number, date(s), time(s), and location(s) of screenings of the selected films are at the sole discretion of ReFrame. Filmmakers of accepted entries will be notified with these details.
