Programming Advisory Committee

JOIN THE REFRAME PROGRAMMING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The ReFrame Film Festival is a community celebration of documentary film and media art, with a lens on social and environmental justice. The festival is based in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough, Ontario and Programming Committee applicants will ideally be located in the region.

The Programming Advisory Committee is a volunteer committee of 7-9 members including the Lead Programming Advisor and Creative Director. The committee works with the Creative Director to identify and develop programming themes in the creation of a cohesive festival program which meets the mission and mandate of the organization.

Committee members review and discuss films in at least two of several categories including, but not limited to: Art, Environment, Indigenous Rights, Health, Education and Science, LGBTQ2S+ Rights, Feminist Issues, International Human Rights, Regional Issues and Youth & Aging. Committee members are expected to watch films, engage in critical conversations and provide as broad a spectrum of insights as possible. As such, selections will be made to ensure a diverse group of individuals comprise the committee. Film industry experience is not required. We are looking for passionate people who have a connection to the topics being discussed.

The committee will form in June 2024 and disband in October 2024. Committee members should expect a time commitment of approximately 20 hours a month during this time and ideally be available for in-person meetings in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough. Committee members are required to watch films in a timely manner, adhere to the committee terms of reference, and maintain confidentiality in all matters.

Applicants should complete the form linked below by May 31st 2024, at 1pm.

As an organization committed to equity, ReFrame strongly encourages applications from members of equity-deserving communities including women, racialized and Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities / expressions and others facing barriers to inclusion.

We sincerely thank all applicants for taking the time to apply. Please be advised, however, only those selected for a follow up conversation will be contacted.
