PANEL: Human Rights, Solidarity, and Resistance (from Turtle Island to Palestine)

Individual ticket sales for In-Person and Virtual screenings are now open.  Passholders are not required to pre-order tickets for film screenings. Workshops and special events are free for passholders, and registration is required due to limited capacity.

Karen Isaacs

Karen is the co-founder and co-director of Solidarity of Nations – Achvat Amim. Karen has worked for many years in direct action in support of the people of Masafer Yatta, the subject of this film. Her work with Achvat Amim focuses on building partnership between diverse communities through mutual learning and solidarity.

Aseel Zahran 

Aseel is a Palestinian peacebuilding practitioner and critical pedagogy designer.

Mohammad Al-Hroub

Mohammad is a Palestinian who has recently returned to Peterborough. A graduate of Trent University, Mohammad and his brother Anas run Wadi Fine Foods at the downtown market.

Feyzi Baban

Feyzi is the Chair of Global Justice and Development at Trent University. He specializes in global comparative politics and critical theories of international relations.

Peter Boullata

A Palestinian born in Jerusalem and raised in Montreal, Peter is an ordained minister currently doing doctoral studies in psychotherapy and spiritual care. A pastor, a bookseller, and a writing tutor and teacher, Peter has an avid interest in post-colonialism, liberation movements, and the spirituality of cultural resistance.
